With the help of a CLEF grant and donations from community organizations, seventy-four CRES 5th graders were given the opportunity to experience our Minnesota winter at Deep Portage Learning Center on Feb. 8-10. They went ice fishing, built winter shelters, cross-country skied, learned about animals, climbed a rock wall, and much more!
Magnetic walls have been installed in the CRES Performance Area. These magnetic walls are used for students to experiment, create, and explore. CLEF has purchased multiple items for students to use on these magnetic walls to foster creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
6th grade students are learning to write code with the use of Arduinos purchased with a grant from CLEF. The students write code to instruct the Arduino’s components how to operate. These include motors, temperature sensors, LEDs, microphones, and more.
